Students selected for Future Ingenieros will work as teams on a special project with an engineering research lab at NC State during the week of the 2019 Juntos Academy. Future Ingenieros teams will work on projects to explore a scientific question by developing new tools, carrying out experiments, analyzing data, or using computer programming. Participants will interact with undergraduate and graduate engineering students, and be mentored by a NC State Professor. In addition, you will document your experience and get to share your project with family, friends, school, and others through social media!
Some examples of potential projects include:
- Studying aging and biological processes by applying genetic and engineering tools to roundworms.
- Using computer programming to visualize and analyze the impact of smoke from forest fires on air pollution.
- Understanding how different coastal environments are changing through fieldwork and satellite-based data.
